Each wandering soul has its own map full of points, strokes, and “limits” that symbolize a connatural world of our own. Constantly changing and being renewed due to daily discoveries, this is what our personal Atlas encompasses so far! We simply intend to make this a particular reference, a moving photograph of our life as travelers. Our aim, here and now, is to enrich ourselves with wisdom at all levels and worldwide experiences, as well as to guide you best. Want to discover our borders?

· How did this travel journal come about?
Based on the enormous part that travel and art play in our life, some years ago, we decided to share our adventures and misadventures with the world. From our tiny house in Donosti, we planned and crafted Numinous Miles hoping someday it’ll become a trusted voice for anyone seeking travel inspiration. Inspiration not only in what to do on your next trip but everything the place has to offer culturally and artistically, to encourage wanderlusters to discover, explore, and create memoirs of all the places they are lucky enough to travel to.
So, we created the go-to travel journal that brings you the beauty of a life without borders. A place to seek and find miscellaneous inspiration through our original narratives and photography from around the world. A politically neutral and culturally accurate project, based on the photographic documentation and personally curated journals of our Atlas. A place where your soul’s desire for freedom is the only matter.
· Who is behind this journal? Meet us now!
We are Gigi and Xabi, a Basque native couple seeking a tranquil life full of adventures. Contradictory, we know! We find tranquility when placing ourselves behind our cameras and journals, and capturing the adventures through our lenses and words, as this helps us find the life without borders we have always pursued!
Gigi declared her love for linguistics, art, and history a long while ago and have focused her studies accordingly, so if you want to find her, you’ll need to search through sketches, photographs, words, and melodies! In Xabi’s case, with a deep admiration for scenes, sounds, and the movement of light, he focused his studies mainly on Photography, but also on Videography, Sound, and Lighting, and can always be found between cartridges, melodies, and light bulbs.
Note that not all our studies belong to a Uni degree, but we treasure them all, as they are, in fact, the reason and basis of this little project called Numinous Miles, and our precious art books called Goizane Gaia and Xabi Beta!
As art and travel enthusiasts, and being artists and travelers ourselves, our happy place is where one’s self-expression is validated and respected, where we can share our knowledge with whoever is willing to listen, and where we can learn from others, whatever the subject is! So, obviously, we are a couple of ingrained curiouses and we can’t hold ourselves back when it comes to learning new things!

We reinvest 10% of what we make in the creation of LURRA, but, what is it and why do we donate 10% of our profits to it?
First things first! Even if the importance of heritage and its preservation is undeniable, we have systematically neglected it. In an extensive world full of traces of the past waiting to be unearthed, we never allocate enough attention, time, or money to all the buried heritage. We let centuries of knowledge and history be lost in time by our inactivity when it comes to improving the conditions of these studies.
And what about all the artists who need a push to be able to make a career out of their art? A lifetime of studying, improving techniques, and perfecting your style, only to be criticized for not having chosen a decent career or to be denied the opportunity to exhibit your art because your name still doesn’t ring a bell.
This isn’t sustainable and acceptable anymore, and change is needed! In an effort to avoid this situation from lasting in time, Gigi came up with the idea of creating LURRA, which is meant to be an Art Foundation specializing in the conservation & protection of art & heritage. But, creating a foundation isn’t easy! There are many requirements to meet and countless obstacles to face.
So, if you also believe this foundation can mark a turning point, purchase a print or donate, and we will be one step closer!
